Welcome to Exmouth's "River Exe Cafe"; a totally unique venue offering a wonderful dining experience with a difference. The River Exe Cafe is a floating barge just off the Ski lane on the River Exe, and is in the heart of Exmouth’s water sports fraternity, wakeboarding, waterskiing, kayaking, sailing to name just a few, however it is also situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty, protected by Natural England. The Exe Estuary is home to many rare birds and creatures including Avocets, Osprey and of course our friendly grey seal.
This is not fine dining but relaxed dining
River Exe Cafe
Located in the Exe Estuary between the river Exe and the historic Exeter Ship Canal, directly opposite Topsham in East Devon, this quirky place offers quite a unique holiday opportunity. Remote in some ways yet Topsham is right there on the other side of the ferry crossing and Exeter a few miles away along a popular and car-free cycle path.

“We visited the Hour glass pub last weekend and it was a pleasant suprise, its a small pub that steps back in time a little tucked away off the beaten track with a friendly pleasent feeling any happy staff, Its not far from the river & key. We will be returning soon!!”

“We go almost every week. Well kept beers, great atmosphere, friendly service and excellent food.”

Maker Maker is essentially a making place where a lot of the items you’ll see are handmade on the premises by husband and wife team Rupert and Anita.

“Our vision was to create a shop that brought together all the things we love; music, textiles, ceramics and furniture to name just a few.”

To compliment these handmade goods there is also a selection of antique items that may have been customised or restored in certain ways. Maker Maker is also a place to be creative in our workshops. We run various courses in pottery, ukulele, painted furniture and textiles.

We would be delighted to hear from you, please contact Rupert & Anita.
